Senior Network Engineer

I) Network Design, Architecture & Implementation
- Design and architect scalable network infrastructure solutions to meet business requirements
- Lead the configuration and deployment of network equipment including switches, firewalls, routers, and wireless systems
- Define network standards, best practices, and technical guidelines for the organization
- Oversee the setup of network-related systems such as CCTV, access control, VoIP, and printers
- Make architectural decisions on network topology and technology selection
Ensure proper documentation of all designs, configurations, and changes
II) Network Monitoring, Maintenance & Team Leadership
- Oversee network performance monitoring and establish monitoring strategies
- Lead troubleshooting efforts for complex network issues (Tier 2/Tier 3 support)
- Coordinate maintenance schedules and oversee critical updates and patches
- Mentor and guide junior network engineers on technical issues and best practices
- Analyze traffic patterns and performance metrics to proactively identify issues
- Establish and maintain network performance baselines and KPIs
III) Security Strategy & Implementation
- Develop and implement network security strategies and policies
- Design and configure advanced security solutions including firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and network segmentation
- Lead security audits and vulnerability assessments
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements
- Respond to and investigate security incidents
- Stay current with emerging security threats and implement protective measures
IV) Network Optimization & Innovation
- Evaluate and recommend new technologies to improve network performance and efficiency
- Lead initiatives to optimize network infrastructure and reduce operational costs
- Design and implement network automation solutions where applicable
- Conduct performance tuning and capacity optimization
- Research industry trends and emerging technologies (SD-WAN, cloud networking, etc.)
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across the network infrastructure
V) Documentation & Standards
- Establish and maintain documentation standards for the network team
- Create and maintain comprehensive network diagrams, topology maps, and architecture documents
- Develop and update network policies, procedures, and guidelines
- Ensure all team members follow documentation best practices
- Maintain disaster recovery and business continuity documentation
VI) Project Leadership & Collaboration
- Lead network projects including new outlet deployments, infrastructure upgrades, and migrations
- Develop project plans, timelines, and resource allocation for network initiatives
- Coordinate cross-functional teams including system administrators, IT support, and operations
- Provide technical leadership and guidance during project execution
- Delegate tasks and oversee the work of junior network engineers
- Communicate project status and technical updates to management and stakeholders
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet quality standards
VII) Strategic Capacity Planning
- Develop long-term network capacity and growth strategies
- Analyze current and future network requirements based on business expansion plans
- Create multi-year network roadmaps aligned with organizational goals
- Prepare budget proposals and cost-benefit analyses for network investments
- Plan for scalability and ensure infrastructure can support future growth
- Recommend infrastructure investments and technology upgrades
VIII) Vendor Management & Relationships
- Lead vendor selection and evaluation processes
- Negotiate contracts, SLAs, and pricing with vendors and service providers
- Manage vendor relationships and ensure adherence to service level agreements
- Evaluate new vendors and technologies for potential adoption
- Serve as the primary technical contact for strategic vendor partnerships
- Oversee vendor performance reviews and improvement initiatives
IX) Team Leadership & Development
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to network engineers
- Conduct knowledge-sharing sessions and technical training
- Review and approve technical work performed by team members
- Participate in hiring and onboarding of new network team members
- Foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement
- Assist in performance evaluations and career development planning

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, with Networking as a focus or related field (or equivalent work experience).
Proven experience as a Network Engineer with minimum 2 years experience.
Strong knowledge of networking concepts, protocols, and technologies (e.g., TCP/IP, OSPF, SDWAN, STPs, QoS, IPSec etc.).
Familiar with setting up & troubleshooting printers, CCTV, Access Control, VoIP, Wireless, Switch, Firewalls, and Server.
Experience in setting up network monitoring and troubleshooting tools (Zabbix, Wireshark, Iperf etc.) are a plus.
Familiarity with network security best practices and tools.
CCNA / CCNP or other relevant certifications are a plus.
